8 ways to evaluate if you are eating healthy

ARE YOU MISTAKING HEALTHY EATING?

Sometimes we over indulge into health foods or healthy eating thinking we are doing well. This is not always true though.

HERE ARE 8 WAYS TO SEE IF YOU ARE MISTAKING HEALTHY EATING:

  1. EATING ONLY SOUP/SALADS FOR MEALS.

Eating only soup or salad which belong to vegetables group will not at all help you to be healthy. They will provide only certain vitamins or minerals but not calories, proteins and fats. These eating habits will lead your body to go in starvation mode and store more fats.

2. DRINKING LOT OF GREEN TEA FOR WEIGHT LOSS IN A DAY.

You might be drinking only green tea whenever you feel hungry, but this will absolutely not helping you to lose weight. It will hamper the digestion and interfere with your metabolism. Maximum 3 cups in a day will be helpful but not more than that.

3. SKIPPING MEALS TO LOSE WEIGHT.

Eating only 2 meals in a day will not lose weight but rather gain it. Giving not enough food and specially calories makes your body go into starvation mode and it will lead you to weight gain.

4. COMPLETELY AVOIDING GHEE/BUTTER/OIL.

Fats are very necessary for body. They also help you for good digestion and absorption of certain vitamins and minerals. There should be minimum 4-5 tsp of fats used in your cooking everyday.

5. AVOIDING RICE.

Rice is a rich source of complex carbohydrate and easy to digest and very essential for body’s metabolism. We are cutting on all the goodness of rice for the sake of weight loss which is not at all healthy. Eat rice, but watch the portion. Compliment it with dal, sabzi and salad and you are good to go.

6. EATING ONLY ROTI SABZI FOR MEALS.

It is a quick fix option but it does not provide you all nutrients especially proteins and vitamins. It is always good to eat square meal including roti/rice, dal/sprouts/dairy, cooked sabzi and raw salad.

7. BANISHING CERTAIN FOODS FOR LIFE.

Avoiding certain foods like sweets, fried foods at all will eventually lead you to crave them maximum. And you will end up binging on them. Moderation is the key, so you can eat those foods but limit them for once or twice a month.

8. CRASH DIETING

Diets like only soups/dals/fruits/salads in whole day for all meals are nothing but crash diets. They will surely lose your weight but it will gain back as fast as it lost. Also, it won’t provide you all crucial nutrients which will compromise on your skin/hair health and will lose your muscles.
