Herbal tea- Caffeine free, improves immunity and digestion

As we all know monsoon is going on.Sadly, monsoon is also the time when diseases, particularly of the digestive system, are rampant.It also reduces the immunity of our body and makes you susceptible to many diseases which are commonly associated with this season like cold and flu. Hence, it is time for us to keep our body resistant against diseases by boosting our immunity and taking precautions against these diseases. While you must make it a habit to regularly drink boiling water, you should also scrupulously avoid street food or food prepared in bulk.

So here we are come up with a traditional recipe including immunity booster ingredients.Herbal tea is having ginger which is a popular spice. It is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.A refreshing beverage, lemongrass tea is also delightfully healthy. Lemongrass has a cooling energy which helps to soothe your stomach and keeps your digestive functions in check. It contains a component called citral that helps to digest food. It acts as a detox, as it helps cleanse the liver by flushing out nasty toxins from the body. Jaggery is loaded with antioxidants and minerals like zinc and selenium, which help prevent free-radicals (responsible for early ageing). It helps boost resistance against infections, hence building stronger immunity. So this tea is loaded with lots of properties which are important & build our immunity stronger.

HERBAL TEA –

Ingredients –
Ginger – 2 inches
Lemongrass – 2-3 stalks with leaves.
Jaggery (preferably organic) – as per taste
Juice of lemon ¼ tsp.

Method –
1. Boil the ginger, lemongrass in 4 cups of water. Add jaggery in to it. Boil it down to 2 glasses. Strain it & add lemon juice.
2. Serve hot.
